Long awaited legislation outlaws puppy farming in Ireland

 

To compliment the recently introduced Welfare of Greyhounds Act – the Irish government bring into law the Dogs Breeding Establishments Act – giving the authorities the power to close breeders who breed hundreds of puppies in squalid conditions.

Trainers down by 100 a year

 

The New Year starts on a good note with GOBATA announcing that trainers are leaving the industry at a rate of 100 per year - suggesting kennel inspections deter ‘Greyhound Trainers’
