Belle Vue - Moral dilemmas, incomprehensible race cards and extortionate beer
Thursday 17th
Reporter Robin Brown gives us a frank insight into the ‘A Night at The Dogs’ at Belle Vue dog track.
“Belle Vue and the GRA’s other tracks have undergone a flashy rebrand that reaches out to corporate functions and traditional clientele alike. The tracks are now under the brand Love The Dogs. There’s a dangerous duality to that slogan. For many, loving the dogs is exactly the reason they won’t be going”

ShowMe TheBunny's Kennels - update - & its all good news!
Tuesday 11th
We have received a statement from the BBC that was read out recently on Colin Murray's Kicking Off radio show - which read as follows
"Normally on a Friday night we get our weekly dose of greyhound commentary to find out how our favourite dog – Show me the Bunny – is getting on. Unfortunately due to security issues the dog is being moved to new kennels and therefore we’ve decided not to continue with this feature. We have been in touch with the British Greyhound board and the dog will continue racing or will be retired and placed in a home for retired greyhounds. We’ll keep you posted.”
Unfortunately ShowMe TheBunny is still being raced at the risk of sustaining a serious injury and has been moved from the kennels we exposed last month but it is excellent news that the BBC have decided to stop promoting the gambling on dogs to a national audience as a 'great fun night out' and as a 'sport'
Many thanks to everyone who wrote and phoned in to complain to the BBC and also those advocates who held protests outside the BBC offices - a combination of which will have had an influence on the BBC's decision.
We are still awaiting a response from the GBGB to a complaint we submitted at the time of the exposure - raising our concerns on a number of issues. As the BBC say - we'll keep you posted!
Exemplary letter published in the Radio
Times
Wednesday 9th
Last weeks edition of the Radio Times sees the publication of a letter from greyhound advocate Jon Baker - raising awareness and educating thousands of people to the inherent cruel practices the gambling industry depends on for its financial viability.
Well done Jon - you did the dogs proud!

Show Me The Money
last month Jane Jones - propriertor of Max amd Molly designs - successfully negotiated a £250 settelement from the BBC for breach of copyrights. Colin Murray's Kicking Off Friday night show had stolen Jane's Show me The Bunny design and used it as an avitar on their twitter page as part of Radio Five Live's promotion of dog racing.
Jane has donated the £250 to local grass roots rescue - rehabilitation and rehoming centres - on top of the support she already gives by donating a percentage of her sales.
